The Professional Bio

Ari is a fourth year doctoral student in the health psychology program at Virginia Commonwealth University. They graduated with their B.A. in Psychology in 2012 from University of South Florida St. Petersburg and their M.S. in Psychology in 2016 from Virginia Commonwealth University. Their master’s thesis examined how masculine and feminine gender role ideology related to sexual health information seeking intentions, attitudes, and normative beliefs. They are currently collecting data on their doctoral dissertation, which will look at how certain social, psychological, and health communication factors influence cervical cancer screening in sexual minority women and non-binary individuals.

The Personal Bio

Ari lives in Virginia with their cat, Jinkx Monsoon. Their hobbies include playing video games, going to drag shows, reading historical nonfiction, and watching Korean horror films.
